Enabler:
IT for Intermodal Mobility Choices - Exploitation of information system application development to meet the need for pre and in-journey decision-making across all modes of transport
Cluster of enablers:
Travel Process Management
Capability
Capability:
Collection and integration of real-time data in an environment of heterogeneous sensors (each user of the transportation network can be considered a sensor if data on e.g. movement of the user is collected) taking into account the implications upon passenger rights, personal data protection and other consumer protection mechanisms/policies
R&I needs:
Develop technologies supporting for efficient tracking of various modes of transports under all possible operating conditions
Achievements
2020:
By 2015 Multi-modal relevant transport service data interchange industry standards are defined and may be used by industry players. Standards are to be defined and agreed to facilitate access and exchange of: *  Transport service data *  Real-time operational and passenger data * User generated data By 2020 Multi-modal transport service data & real-time operation/passenger data are integrated and access/sharing by travel stakeholders is normalized– Number of IT/Data service providers per country By 2020 Mobile technologies that facilitate outdoor and indoor itinerary guidance are deployed in the marketplace – Area coverage: at least 50% of designated critical transport/traffic areas and nodes
2035:
Multi-modal transport service data, real-time operation/passenger data and other relevant data (user generated) are integrated, access/sharing by travel stakeholders is normalized– Increase of 30% in the number of IT/Data service providers per country Mobile technologies that facilitate outdoor and indoor itinerary guidance are deployed in the marketplace – Area coverage: at least 70% of designated critical transport/traffic areas and nodes
2050:
Multi-modal transport service data, real-time operation/passenger data and other relevant data (user generated) are integrated, access/sharing by travel stakeholders is normalized–There is a competitive IT/Data service providers offer in each European country Mobile technologies that facilitate outdoor and indoor itinerary guidance are deployed in the marketplace – Penetration rate 90%
Key Performance Indicator:
Availability and use of multi-modal relevant transport service data interchange industry standards Availability, integration and accessibility (by industry players) of multi-modal transport service data & real-time operation/passenger data Availability & share of deployment of mobile technologies that facilitate outdoor and indoor itinerary guidance
